Dodge Ball Fun - version 1

We now have a full set of 12 dodge balls for you to use for a class game.

Teachers can collect the dodge balls from the Gear Shed.

How to Play

  • Split your class into two groups - runners and throwers
  • Split the throwers in to two groups and have them stand outside the throwing boundary armed and ready with the dodge balls (use the markings on the rugby field)
  • Call a brave runner (by name) to try and make it to the far end of the boundary area without getting hit by a dodge ball
  • If the runner makes it to the end then everyone can run
  • If the runner is hit then they must stand still where the ball hit them until they have been counted
  • A ball hit only counts if it is below the shoulders
  • Once everyone has made it to the other end - count up the throwers score by counting the people standing inside the boundary area - once they have been counted they can now go free and try to run again
  • After a set number of turns change over the teams so that the throwers get a turn to run and the runners get a turn to throw

Have fun!
