Dodge-Ball Game

DOGEBALL RULES

1. Find some people and sort out even teams.
2. One team goes to the back of the field and the other goes and spreads out on each side.
3. The people on the sides get some balls.
4. One person from the team at the back gets a baton and runs to the front of the field but watch out for doge balls.
5. When someone gets to the other side and back its one point after a while the teams swap sides have fun.

Dodge Ball Fun - version 1

We now have a full set of 12 dodge balls for you to use for a class game.

Teachers can collect the dodge balls from the Gear Shed.

How to Play

  • Split your class into two groups - runners and throwers
  • Split the throwers in to two groups and have them stand outside the throwing boundary armed and ready with the dodge balls (use the markings on the rugby field)
  • Call a brave runner (by name) to try and make it to the far end of the boundary area without getting hit by a dodge ball
  • If the runner makes it to the end then everyone can run
  • If the runner is hit then they must stand still where the ball hit them until they have been counted
  • A ball hit only counts if it is below the shoulders
  • Once everyone has made it to the other end - count up the throwers score by counting the people standing inside the boundary area - once they have been counted they can now go free and try to run again
  • After a set number of turns change over the teams so that the throwers get a turn to run and the runners get a turn to throw

Have fun!
