Everyone was a real credit to the school in the way they conducted themselves and took part in all their races. A special thank you to all the parents that helped with transport and stayed to watch and cheer us on.  One parent had only just come back from school camp the previous day!

Many children got through to finals and finished in the top 4 or 5 for their age group.  Sorry, I don't have all the results because I was busy coordinating the starts and announcing the races.

The top performances for Ilam at this event were:

• 8 year old girls breaststroke - Sarah Marshall - 3rd place
• mixed 9 year old relay team - 2nd place
• mixed 10 year old relay team - 3rd place - but then disqualified for touching the bottom when they turned at the end of the pool :-(
• 9 year old girls backstroke - Dana Jung - 2nd place - Centrals Qualification
• 10 year old girls backstroke - Lydia Robinson - 1st place - Centrals Qualification
• girls open butterfly (any age) - Scarlett Rumble - 2nd place - Centrals Qualification

An outstanding performance from everyone.  A special congratulations to those of you that had nervous tummies before your race and still did your best.  Well done to Scarlett for her amazing effort in the open 50m butterfly race.  The other competitors were two or three years older and almost twice as tall as you!
